The nordic resorts
The Jura Mountain winter sport potential is spread out over 52 villages and resorts, all linked by trails, links or the Grande Traversée Jurassienne (GTJ) cross country trail. It is a unique network in France and is considered one of the most beautiful Nordic resorts in Europe. It offers countless possibilities for hiking and rambling for a day, a weekend or longer.
21 Nordic resorts meet the standards of the ‘Nordique France’ France national label, thus guaranteeing the quality of services offered to skiers.
This network of over 3,000 kilometers covering 3 Departments is represented on two complete maps in the collection ‘Le Massif du Jura, Pays du ski de fond’, in the collection ‘Les Spéciales de l’IGN" (ordnance survey), Plein Air series, published by the association Espace Nordique Jurassien (ENJ).
Enjoy the snow differently…
Over the past several years new activities have been developed in the Jura Mountains to enable you to appreciate the snow and the natural envi- ronment in a different way.
You will find that most villages have adapted to specific needs: snowshoe trails, hiking trails, dog sleigh trails, sled runs, snow-play areas for children, ski lifts…
Do you want to leave the beaten paths ? Guides suggest hikes that allow you to discover ‘their’ Jura, simply and naturally.
And it’s all authentic…
You’ll find a warm welcome on the Jura Mountains, adapted to your wishes, from small, typical villages to classified resorts. Holiday centres, bed-and-breakfasts (‘gîtes’ and ‘chambres d’hôtes’), hotels,
caravans… There’s no lack of choice of places
to spend the night.
After a dose of pure mountain air, relax around a table full of typical franc-comtois food, in a warm, friendly environment.
